A Misty Morning in Cambria

As you drive along the California coast, you’ll find the charming little town of Cambria, California with beaches that make for some dreamy photos. Moonstone Beach is one of them. It happens to hold a special place in the life of two incredible people, Shaelyn and Josh, who I get to call both family and clients. A while ago, we chose to do a portrait session during the early morning hours, while the fog still lingered and created a soft and natural light.

This foggy morning spent behind the lens was just the motivation I needed to move forward with my dream of starting a freelance design and photography business.

I keep coming back to these portraits as a reminder of where I’m going and the people who have supported me. As I’m navigating which services to offer and how I want to spend my time, I’m reminded how much I love photography. A portrait can speak to a hundred feelings, or one. All I know is it feels natural and meaningful to capture them.
